2 Looks With The Naked 2 Palette

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all had wonderful weekends! I spent most of my weekend with my aunt and grandmother who both live together. I don’t get to see them a lot since I’m usually away for school and so I decided it would be nice to see them. I was able to create two looks this weekend with my naked 2 palette that I wanted to share with you!

First is a simple neutral look that I absolutely adore for everyday wear. I wore this on Saturday as I spent most of my day with my aunt downtown and wanted something that wasn’t too crazy or glam.

I mainly used foxy (all over my eyelid and up to my brow bone) as well as tease (in my crease) to create this look! I also used half-baked to highlight my inner corner. The only product I used for this that wasn't from the urban decay palette was a transition shade from a drugstore palette. It's basically a very pale pinky/orange colour, so you can substitute that for anything you have in your collection that looks similar.

This was my full face of makeup from that day. I love to keep my makeup simple and natural for the summer months with some glow to have the appearance of healthy looking skin. (Check my last post to see what I use to get my summer glow!)

The second look I did was more of a glittery glam look!

For this look I still used my usual foxy and tease, however I used half-baked on the inner portion of my lid and then I used chopper on the middle. I wish you could see the colour distinction better but hopefully you get the idea!

How did you spend your weekend? Leave a comment below and let me know!

L'Oreal True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator

Hello Everyone!

I recently picked up the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Liquid Glow and Illuminator in Ice from my local drug store after watching a couple of youtubers praise the product. I’m always on the hunt for good quality makeup that’s affordable and so I thought I’d give this a try. I purchased this for around $15 CAD ($12 USD) and you get 0.67 fluid ounces/ 20 ml of product.

I have to say that I’m quite impressed with this highlighter! I feel like a glowing goddess when I put this stuff on. I think the colour is so pretty and the pigment is amazing! The product can be used as a face primer as well and let me tell you, it gives you the most dewy and glowing looking skin when used under a foundation! It can look a little sparkly if you use too much so just keep that in mind.

That pigment though!!!

I do find that the product dries quickly and so blending it out can be difficult if you don’t work fast enough. I find the best way to apply it is with a beauty blender as it can really help soften the line. When I apply the product with my fingers it’s very hard to blend and ends up looking like a straight line of highlighter on my cheek bone which is not a cute look. I find the same thing happens when using a brush. It just spreads the product around my cheek without blending it out nicely so again you’re stuck with a chunk of highlighter on your cheek. You don’t need an expensive beauty blender either. I just use a knockoff one I bought from H&M and it works just the same.

Have you tried this product yet? If so leave a comment below and tell me what you think about it.

My Travel Purse Essentials

Hello Everyone!

As I mentioned in a previous post I recently traveled to Atlanta, and I thought I should do a post about my travel purse essentials! The key is getting the right sized bag with the right amount of pockets. I've made the mistake (believe it or not more than once) of bringing a tiny crossbody purse which made it difficult to carry anything but my wallet. It was horribly tight and anytime I went to grab something out of it, everything else in my tiny bag would come flying out. I've picked up tampons in front of strangers one too many times and I've decided to graduate to a larger bag. I still recommend purchasing a crossbody style purse as your travel bag as its so easy to carry and leaves your arms open for more important things, like carrying a travel book or a croissant- whatever floats your boat.

Now let's get inside my bag!

Disclaimer: None of these items actually end up inside of my bag, not to worry though, they're still loved dearly
  • First, my wallet and passport are a must and need to fit comfortably in my bag. Also, I won't be able to leave the country without either of these and so if they're forgotten I should really reassess my ability to travel unsupervised
  • Purel/ santizing hand wipes- these bad boys come in handy all of the time! When I'm travelling I'm generally out for majority of the day and find myself touching tons of door handles/ railings/ bathrooms, and I absolutely need to sanitize my hands right after
  • Hair ties- Unless you're hair is gorgeously voluminous and wonderful from morning until night without any touch ups, I recommend bringing along some hair ties. There's nothing worse than looking in the mirror and seeing the frizz mop on my head, and not having a hair tie to tame that sucker with
  • Water- I can't stress how important it is to be hydrated while on vacation! It's very easy to lose track of the day and forget to drink water which can lead to a heaping amount of problems, such as headaches and dizziness. Unless you paid hundreds to thousands of dollars to stare at your hotel room walls, I suggest you drink the water
  • Powder and powder puff- this may seem silly, but since I'm out for such long periods of time while on vacation, I like to keep some powder and a powder puff/brush in my purse so that I can quickly freshen up my face. Although I have dry skin, I tend to be more oily when I'm in hot/humid places, and so the powder is a must unless I plan on frying an egg on my face as one of my travel activities.
  • Tissues- this also may seem silly but believe me, when you find yourself walking down the streets of New York with your street meat in hand (or street veggie meat for all of my vegetarian/vegan followers out there) and you watch as some ketchup releases itself from your hotdog bun and onto your shirt, and all you have left is the greased up napkin you've already used to wipe your mouth, you'll reach into your bag and find your tissues and you'll think of this moment and thank me
That's all I can think of for now! If anyone has anything else to add please feel free to do so in the comments and I'll add it to the list! Wishing you all happiness and save travels!

Todays OOTD

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to share my ootd with you all because I can't get enough of it! The Jean shorts are from garage and I recently picked up the white crop top from H&M for $10 USD. I'm going to do an H&M haul post soon since I got a ton of cute stuff for the summer while I was in Atlanta!
I've been obsessed with high neck lines lately although I'm not sure if it's really the trend right now. What do you think?

Where I've Been...

Hello Everyone!

I know I've been MIA lately and so I just wanted to jump on here and give a quick update. My mom has been having some health issues and I've had to do some travelling to take care of her and help her out. On the brightside things are looking better for her and so I'm hoping to have this blog back up and running again! Hope all is well you everyone!
